The StepForward Recovery Practice

Wellbeing: Coaching survivors of Abuse and Trauma to have a voice and balanced life.

Episode 33 – Shame ’On You’

Carrying around the 'shame' of abuse is what often prevents people from disclosing to others. The fear of being judged, or called a liar. Chris and Beverley share their own insights into how that feels and learning to understand that part of the abuse, is the perpetrator being able to offload the shame onto the victim – for them to believe it is their fault and hence their shame – which it is not. In this raw and authentic conversation they also talk about overcoming the messages and beliefs inside to release the shame and how to move forward.

Following a long career in Sales, Management and starting several businesses, coaching and enabling others has always been a major part of my career. By using Wellbeing coaching this enables positive results in all aspects of Life, Business & Health to be the Best YOU either 1:1 or in groups.

As a speaker, my mission is to enable Adult Survivors to have a voice and to raise awareness and enable Families, friends and colleagues to be able to ask questions and be more aware of overcoming abuse and/or trauma for the best support.
